Editor does not show content in DNN 7.0.2


When using Nuntio Content 5.0 the editor does not display any existing content and no content can be edited in the rich text editor field.

Steps to reproduce
  • Install DNN 7.0.2
  • Install Nuntio Content 5.0.0
  • Try to edit content
  • no content displayed
  • no editing possible
  • Toggle between Basic Text Box and Rich Text editor
    ==> now the editor has wrong colours but least editing is possible
Editor Version we're using: DotNetNuke.RadEditorProvider
Configuration: IIS 7.5, App Pool: .NET 4.0 integrated mode, 64 bit

The problem is caused by injection of jquery/jquery-ui libraries which haven't been included in earlier versions of DNN but ship with DNN 7. The editor works with the attached hotfix (which has only been tested with DNN 7.0.2, NOT with earlier versions). Search for "TODO: HACK" in the attached file (method: "InjectjQueryLibary" which is misspelled btw ;-)

If some nuntio developer could have a look at this and apply a proper fix/release a new Version that would be greatly appreciated.

I've rebuilt the Nuntio.Content.dll with the hotfix described above (built against DNN version 7.0.2, .NET Framework 4.0). Maybe someone wants to try the hotfix without having to rebuild the dll until a proper fix from the nuntio devteam will be published.

Even with the attached .dll, the module tabs do not work in DNN 7.1.0. Instead, the various tab contents are listed down the page. For example:

Language 1 Tab, Language 2 Tab, Preferences Tab, Option Tab

Preferences window

The options tab does nothing.

We were experiencing the same problems when trying to upgrade to DNN 7.1.0. I've modified our initial hotfix (see attached file). Now jquery won't get injected (as in the previous hotfix) but jquery-ui 1.8.16 will always be injected for DNN 7.

With this hotfix it seems to work (at least in our testing environment). Further testing is still necessary but if anybody wants to try our hotfix feel free (without any warranty :-)

The attached file from my previous post shows right below all other attachments and is therefore hard to identify - sorry for that. I've packaged the dll into a properly named zipfile so hopefully it's easier now to get our hotfix...

Thank you for the HotFix for DNN 7.1.0. I tried it in a test site and it worked properly. I have now put it in a production site and it is working properly there too.

Dumb question. Where do I install the hotfix? I don't see any existing DLLs in the desktop modules directory. Must be somewhere else?

The .dll go into the bin directory.
